Cyborg vs Gordon Ryan, You be the judge, was Cyborg’s DQ justified?
The Cyborg vs Gordon Ryan match led to a lot back and forth in the BJJ world in regards to the legitimacy of the Cyborg’s actions as a technique or a strike. As we know in grappling competitions striking is not allowed.
However, Cyborg’s actions did not a punch or a strike with a closed fist or chop. It was, however, a very aggressive club motion that left an echo in the arena as he did it over and over again to Gordon Ryan.
Some call it a clear slap which is not allowed in the sport rules.
